Guatemala Mission Trip 2015

This year’s mission trip will be to Guatemala. We are hoping to orient this trip around providing medical education to the population we serve and promote general well being and proper hygiene practices. The trip is scheduled from June 20th to July 4th. While it is a medical mission, we welcome all people to consider joining and participating in the mission trip. We will provide more information as they become available including details such as cost, transportation, and accommodations.

This is not a medical mission. If medical personnel accompany, we can do a medical camp. We plan on serving in several ways including English training, building/cleaning, and sharing the practices of the church.

For more information, please contact Fr Zach Varghese or Dn. Ani Skariya.

Rev. Dn. Vivek Alex, Mr. Matt Kuriakose, and Ms. Angel Thomas visited the parish of St. George Syrian Orthodox Church Nanuet, NY. They discussed the details of the Youth and Young Adult Conference.

Last July in Dallas, His Eminence Mor Titus Yeldho announced that in 2014 a Youth and Young Adult conference will be held. The Youth and Young Adult conference will be held this year in July.

The dates are Wednesday, July 17 to Sunday, July 20th, 2014.

For this ONE conference, there will be THREE Locations:

  • in the Northeast, the conference will be in NJ (at the Malankara Archdiocese)
  • in Chicago, Illinois, and
  • in Los Angeles, California. (this will be family and youth conference)

We are having three locations – to make it easier for the youth and young adults to attend. A youth member can attend any location – he or she wishes. Daycare is available as well.

The three locations will be connected by technology – which means His Eminence’s Presidential Address session will be shown in Chicago and Los Angeles and streamed from NJ at the Aramana.

Each location will have its own conference program and speaker and be connected with technology a few times a day.

The conference theme is Old Things have Passed Away, Behold I Make All Things New. – 2nd Cor. 5.

We need your help in the various ways:
1) youth and young adults – please register for the conference.

2) Sponsors – we are looking for donations or those who can sponsor meals or souvenir ad.

3) Pray – we earnestly request your prayers for this conference.
